- Hand-Hewn - features rustic heavy adz marks, which mimics the labor-intensive and artistic shaping of a beam when the tree was freshly felled and squared by hand with an axe.
- Rough-Sawn - Our Rough-Sawn texture offers a more refined beam style, that was usually cut with a circular blade, creating a softer, more subtle texture that looks smooth from far away, but up close has lots of character
- Mesa - A deep grain that depicts the realistic characteristics of real wood, yet a softer, more refined look. Once painted or stained you cannot tell the difference from a true wood beam.
- Tahoe - This beam has deep pockets within the grain where it appears it might have been chopped by hand. While it is polyurethane, when placed beside another Tahoe beam, they look different, which is our exact intent.
New Cancellation and Return Policy on Beams
- Cancellation requests must be received within 24 hours from receipt of your order
- After 24 hours, cancellation for 2016 new Beams (Mesa, Tahoe, Hand-Hewn or Rough Sawn) and Board & Batten and Plank shutters will not be accepted
- Cancellation requests must be made via email - a product is not canceled unless we email you back that the order has been canceled
- These new products are made-to-order and shipped in a 5-day lead time, therefore, there will be no returns allowed!
FAQ
Q. Beams are only finished on 3 sides,(hollow on 4th side), if I am using this in a truss situation, how do I finish or close off the 4th side?
A. Most truss systems are not seen from above the trusses. Fypon does not offer a closed beam for a truss system. You could use one of the Flat Trim boards and install it on the job. However, he flat board will not match the Hand Hewn, Tahoe or Rough Sawn.
